How about going retro?

This is a link to a video that talks about one of the no-tech schools in Silicon Valley! The kids that go to these schools come from very technologically advanced parents who think there will be a time when their kids will need to use computers and other gadgets but for now they favor the hands-on classroom teaching. The part that I liked the best was that the kids were engaging in outdoor activities during class breaks for entertainment rather than playing video games.
Fatmir -- This is a very interesting news clip and juxtaposes and contrasts nicely with current discussions about integrating technology into the classroom. It's also an interesting contrast to the focus of the PBS film we watched on Digital Learners of the 21st century. Makes me wonder about the importance of balance--between and among different technologies. It's interesting that they use their tech tools after class and also interesting that these are (primarily?) children of silicon valley engineers and such. I wonder if/how that's significant...? It makes me focus on the question of pedagogy--whether in a classroom using Khan videos or a classroom that bans technologies--are we teaching effectively in all those different contexts? Interesting! Thanks for posting.
